The Project.

Cargo Interiors worked with the team at Green Retreats for an office fit out in London to create their first high street showroom. Green Retreats were looking for a modern biophilic space that would turn heads and cause a stir on the high street.

Having worked with our friends at Green Retreats on their flagship showroom in Buckinghamshire, we already knew what this company was about. This hub showroom in Twickenham was to have its own identity but still encompass the same culture and style as the flagship showroom.

Our task was to transform a run down ex-bathroom showroom unit into an inspiring office space and customer experience.

  • Creative Workshop.

    During our creative workshop with ‘Team Green’, we discovered their needs, wants and ideas in fine detail. The space needed to be a great place for their employees to work and an exciting experience for their customers too.

  • Design Stage.

    Cargo provided two interior design options for the office refurbishment with flat layouts and 3d renders showcasing the layout, lighting design, flooring design and proposed ‘look and feel’. We also presented furniture options for everything from the staff kitchen to the reception desk and customer consultation areas – we even designed a customer ‘tea point’ for the all essential cuppa!

Key Project Features:

Journey

The flooring, lighting and furniture were designed to work harmoniously together to create zones and paths as part of a customer journey through the showroom.

Nature

Green Retreats are an eco-friendly company that uses natural materials, so we created biophilic features around the showroom to subtly show their ethos. Modern, stylish and with a purpose!

Tea Point

The customer tea-point was designed to create a sense of home with an informal open design. This encourages gatherings and casual conversation between staff and customers whilst they prepare their all-important cuppa.

Furniture

Another great eco feature was the choice of office furniture for the showroom. Green Retreats chose the Moka Felt tub chair for their customer consultation areas. Not only is this chair stunning, it’s also made from second-life plastic!

Signage

Being on a busy high street, the signage for the showroom needed to stand out. We incorporated the biophyillic interior design into the signage using UV-stable artificial foliage for a striking result!
